History of Centrum Projektowe Polimex - Mostostal begins in 1945 - just after the war, when the Polish founder of sulfuric acid technology, Henryk Chwalibóg and his family moved to Gliwice. He takes a job as a designer at the Main Office of Investment an Reconstruction of Chemical Industry and also is employed as a senior assistant to emerging Silesian University of Technology in the Department of Chemical Engineering. An extremely high level of skills make that Henryk Chwalibóg becomes a recognized specialist in the design a complex production facilities and the reconstruction of the Polish chemical initiator.

In 1948 the Main Office of Investment an Reconstruction of Chemical Industry is converted in Chemical Equipment Design "Pekachem", which a year later changed name to the Office of Study and Design of Chemical Industry "Biprochem".

Seven years later, in 1955 Design Office "Biprokwas" allotment of structures of "Biprochem" and becomes separate organization unit.

The use of long-term scientific and technological achievements, skills and experience in construction chemical plants are designed, in particular sulfuric acid plant by many engineers headed by Eng. Henryk Chwalibóg allowed the creation of resilient design firm known in Poland and abroad as a The Design and Investment Realization Office "Biprokwas". Design Office "Biprokwas" design installation for Chemical Plants in Police, Tarnów, Puławy, Gdańs, Lublin and the former USSR, Czechoslovakia, Cuba and for many other company and coutry.

The dynamic development of the company contributed to the award "Biprokwas" title "Master of Technology for the year 1973", award of the Polish Academy of Sciences and National Award I Degree.

Other important dates in the history of company:

• 1991 - transform the state company in the limited company
• 1994 - attract strategic partners: Polimex - Mostostal and Rafako
• 1999 - acquisition of Rafako shares by Polimex - Mostostal
• 2007 -obtain by Biprokwas ISO 9001 Certificate
• 2008 - obtain by Biprokwas ISO 14001 Certificate

In 1988 design ectivities begins "Energotechnika" from which the structures in 1996 isolated "Energotechnika - Projekt". In 1999 similary like Biprokwas, Energotechnika - Projekt obtained ISO 9001 Certificate. In 2007 Energotechnika - Projekt attract strategic partner, which is Polimex - Mostostal to.

In 2009 "Biprokwas" was inclusionin the "Energotechnika - Projekt" structure. In 2010 the name of company was changed for "Centrum Projektowe Polimex - Mostostal"
